After the appointment of the chief of police Vladimir Gasparyan the
Police set to reveal "old crimes". Scandalous murders were revealed,
relatives of celebrities were arrested, new sensational revelations
are promised.
Does this have a political context? Judging by the detainees who
are either relatives of oppositionists or members of the Bargavach
Hayastan Party, the revelation of old crimes is a way of settling
personal problems.
Evidence that the "insiders" are not affected is Surik Khachatryan's
case whose case was dismissed because he hit the women once and not
three times, so it is not beating. Let alone prosecution, but the
Republican Party did not condemn its fellow member. So, not everyone
is equal before the law.
Another obscure case is Narek Hartunyan's arrest that stirred the
society both in Armenia and Karabakh. He was allegedly arrested
for tax avoidance but apparently someone disliked Narek's views. He
worked with the opposition and let the hall of Narekatsi Union for
different events.
The revelation of "old" crimes is important, of course, but if Vladimir
Gasparyan considers it to be a police reform he is mistaken.
The goal of reforms must be equality before the law. For the time
being, it is perceived in a distorted manner.
For instance, the church worshipped by Vladimir Gasparyan, speaking
about the equality and man and woman, claims that man is the master,
and woman must be obedient. The church preaches obedience to the
government, entitling it to unanimous decisions, including on the
equality before the law. The Church has replaced the equality preached
by Christ with an interpretation that favors it.
It is nothing that you go to church every day and donate a lot of
money. It is important not to break the rules of coexistence set by
God, the most important of them being equality.
