Armenia should use the pause in Karabakh settlement for activation of
    work with intermediaries

The presidential election will be held in Armenia, Azerbaijan and
Nagornyy Karabakh in the near future, and it is very much possible
that it will become the reason of weakening of attention to the
Nagornyy Karabakh conflict. However, a little pause in settlement of
the conflict may be beneficial for the Armenian party, a member of the
parliament from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, Gagik
    Minasyan, said at today's press-conference.

He thinks that over the last 20 years Armenia gained much in
settlement of the Karabakh conflict and a unique pause should be used
by Yerevan and Stepanakert for the active work with the intermediary
states for resolving of the conflict."The Azerbaijani party has been
doing everything possible to prove that the conflict was not frozen
and we must not let escalation of violence in the conflict zone which
may be caused by provocations of the Azerbaijani party at the line of
contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces", - he said and
added that during the talks Azerbaijanis say one thing and do quite
    another one later.

As for possible changing of the format of the talks often voiced by
Azerbaijan, Minasyan said that the Armenian diplomacy should insist on
preserving of the present format and at the same time gain returning
of Stepanakert to the negotiating table. "Finally, Nagornyy Karabakh
is the key party to the conflict, and it cannot watch how others
settle its destiny. In case of changing of the vector of talks, the
true core of the conflict will be distorted. This is what Azerbaijan
has been striving to", - Minasyan concluded.
