Oppositionist: Gagik Tsarukyan will lose its party in an instant if he
    turns against the power

If Gagik Tsarukyan decides to turn against the incumbent power of
Armenia, the latter may take the Prosperous Armenia party away from
him within 5 days, Leader of the oppositional New Times Party Aram
Karapetyan said at today's press conference.

Like in Russia, in Armenia the oligarchs cannot be an alternative to
the incumbent power, and if one of the oligarchs decides to gang up on
the regime, the response is not slow to arrive, Karapetyan said.

For instance, as soon as the Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov
tried to join the opposition, he was deprived of his Right Cause
Party, Karapetyan said. As regards Tsarukyan, the New Times leader
thinks that today the Armenian authorities are trying to repress the
obstinate Prosperous Armenia Party by detecting various drug addicts
and offenders among the party members.

To recall, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party territorial
structure Armen Hovannisyan (born in 1965) was arrested in Jermuk town
on Nov 29 according to Article 268 part 2 of the Armenian Criminal
Code (illegal drugs circulation with no purpose to sell them in a
large-scale volume). On November 25 Armen Muradyan, who occupied a
leading post at Araratcement Plant owned by Prosperous Armenia Leader
Gagik Tsarukyan, was arrested on similar charge.

When commenting on these incidents, Gagik Tsarukyan's Spokesperson
Khachik Galstyan said that the pressing exerted on the party is
    getting more and more obvious.
