PanARMENIAN.Net - Threats uttered by Turkish authorities regarding
possible adoption of the bill penalizing denial of the Armenian
Genocide prove this country did not step out of denial route and
fears to face its past, member of France-Armenia interparliamentary
friendship group said.
According to Dominique Souchet, Turkey's denial of the Armenian
Genocide is reflected in widespread silence all over the country,
in school textbooks and denial policy of diplomats.
Souchet argued that the approval of the bill could serve a signal
for Turkish public figures who struggle the policy of denial.
"Armenian Diaspora incessantly fights against the policy of negation
and through approval of this bill we will join this fight," concluded
the MP.
