Armenia continues preserving the title of having the most battle-worthy
army in the region. At the same time the Armenian Armed Forces have
never aimed at declaring a war, director of Regional Studies Center
Richard Kirakosian told a news conference today.
"Unlike other neighbors - Georgia and Azerbaijan - which are
developing their armed forces for reaching success, for Armenia the
reinforcement of the Armed Forces is aimed only at the establishment
of peace. Armenia proves it in the international arena as well.
Armenian peacekeepers are the most demanded in the hottest points in
the world," he added, noting that among world powers Armenia leaves
impression of stable state not presenting threat.
Speaking about the arms of Azerbaijan, the expert advised Armenia to
exert pressure on Azerbaijan through international organizations and
restrict the latter's opportunity to buy weaponry. "It is the best
way to ensure possible peace for the conflicting parties," he stressed.
