YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 11, ARMENPRESS: About 1600 manuscripts of Mashtots
Institute of Ancient Manuscripts (Matenadaran), have been digitalized,
Gurgen Gasparyan, coordinator of the digitalization works, advisor to
the director of Matendaran on high technologies and printing affairs,
told Armenpress.
"These works require big potential and modern engineering, and our
technical opportunities are limited," Mr. Gasparyan said, adding that
the works may go on dozen, may be even hundreds of years.
Thirty thousand manuscripts are officially registered in the world,
the 17 of which belong to Matenadaran. The employee of Matenadaran
said that all the digitalized manuscripts are currently available
for scientific study, and any interested person can make use of them.
