Azerbaijan is more interested in discussions over the Karabakh
conflict in other formats rather than progress in talks within the
OSCE Minks Group, Armenian Foreign Minister said on Friday commenting
on sub-committee on Karabakh in PACE.
"First of all opinion of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs should be
taken into account, as they are familiar with evolution of the peace
process and current situation," Edward Nalbandian said at a joint press
conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Kostyantyn Gryshchenko held
in Yerevan.
Minister Nalbandian stressed Azerbaijan is trying to shift domestic
propaganda to the international arena. Baku wants to make a fuss over
the conflict instead of being engaged in its resolution, he added.
Commenting on a report of the International Crisis Group regarding
Karabakh conflict, he noted one should not pour oil on flames before
giving assessments and making forecasts.
"Authors of the report present it as an expert opinion. Different
experts may have various views on the same issue. However, opinions
not always correspond to reality," Nalbandian stressed.
This January the subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh resumed its
activities at the CE Parliamentary Assembly (PACE). Jordi Xucla i
Costa was elected new chairman of PACE sub-committee on Karabakh
during meeting of the PACE bureau.
