PARLIAMENT CHAIRMAN DISCUSSED KARABAKH CONFLICT WITH PETER SEMNEBY

Chairman of Armenia's National Assembly, Hovik Abrahamyan, received
the EU Special Envoy to South Caucasus, Peter Semneby, on the occasion
of the termination of Semneby's term in that position.
According to a press release by Armenia's National Assembly, Hovik
Abrahamyan highly appreciated the work conducted by Semneby, adding
that it greatly contributed to the development and strengthening of
the Armenia-European Union relations.
Abrahamyan also said that Armenia has always attached great importance
to the partnership with the EU, adding that with the start of the
Eastern Partnership Programme that political dialogue between Armenia
and EU, which is developing dynamically, has been bought to a new,
a qualitative level.
Semneby, by elaborating on his work five-year term, said it was a
great achievement that there is now a high level of awareness about
Armenia inside the EU.
He also paid attached importance to the start of negotiations over
the Associative Agreement, which paves the way of more comprehensive
agreements with the EU.
The parties also spoke about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the
Armenia-Turkey normalization and other issues.
