AZG DAILY
20-01-2011
Vision of Humanity has published the annual Global Peace Index 2010.
The rankings are made basing on a number of political, economic,
social and other indices, like political stability, foreign policy
with neighbors and protection of human rights.
Armenia is 113th in the map, Azerbaijan ranks 119th, Georgia comes
142nd, followed by Russia, which ends 143rd. Azerbaijan qualified as a
less peaceful country: Global Peace Index 2008 placed it 101st, while
in 2009 the country fell sharply to 114th and this year it runs 119th.
The map shows Turkey ranking 126th, again less peaceful than Armenia.
Every year Turkey yields its positions: it was 92nd in 2007.
New Zealand, Iceland, Japan, Austria, Norway, Ireland have qualified
as most peaceful. Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sudan are
least peaceful, panorama.am reports.
