EXPERT: KARABAKH MUST HAVE ITS WORD IN ISSUE RELATION TO IT

    ARMENPRESS

    YEREVAN

YEREVAN, JANUARY 26, ARMENPRESS: In reality there is no new tendency
in the Karabakh conflict settlement negotiations, former member of
the Artsakh parliament, chief editor of the "Analitikon" magazine
Gegham Baghdasaryan said speaking to reporters today.

"The efforts of the mediators are directed toward preservation of
stable situation as there is concern that one of the sides, Azerbaijan,
may go out of the negotiation process and try to solve the issue in
    another way," he said.

The speaker said he does not see serious grounds for Azerbaijan to
go out of the process. Azerbaijan is making military statements more
frequently when there is a "gold" or "silver" opportunity to find
solution at the negotiations. Baghdasaryan said with such strategy
Azerbaijan wants to show that its participation in the negotiations
    is already a concession.

"But the non-usage of force must not only be a condition or concession
but an obligation," the speaker said. According to him, before the
recognition of the NKR the Armenian public must promote the recognition
of the Karabakh factor: Karabakh must have its word in every issue
relating to it. The possibility of resuming of war always exists but
in near future there are no "favorable conditions" for Azerbaijan to
    start a war.
