In the Turkish city of Kars, where a new block is being constructing
in Bayrampasha, human skeleton has been found out, which made the
    construction to be halted.

Turkish "Zaman" daily writes the skulls were found in the yard
of commercial school in Kars. Experts were invited to study the
territory. Expert Metin Gesiji told the reporters once there was
a cemetery in that place and it's still not revealed whether it
belonged to Armenians or to Turkish.

Kars (Ghars) was a capital of medieval Armenia (928-961). In ancient
times Kars was part of province of Vanand, Airarat. The fortress of
Kars is recorded in our manuscripts as "Fortress of Karuts".

According to a scientific hypothesis during Urartian period another
fortress was standing in the place of Kars. Now Kars is a provincial
city with 65-70 thousand residents (Kurdish and Turkish).
