Lars Von Trier's Melancholia will be presented at this year's Golden
Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan. The director's
scandalous statement at theCannes Festival made the board of directors
declare him persona non grata, but it id not prevent the film from
getting a prize at the Festival.
Divided into several acts, including an overture that foreshadows the
ensuing events, `Melancholia' centers on two sisters, Justine and
Claire who are facing the literal or perhaps metaphoric end of the
world.
The film stars Charlotte Rampling, John Hurt, Kirsten Dunst. The
latter won the top female acting award in Cannes for her role in
"Melancholia."
The Golden Apricot 8th International Film Festival will be held in
Yerevan July 10-17.
