(Noyan Tapan - 30.06.2011) Because of financial crisis most of the
Armenians have debts, lost their job, some have to emigrate.
Presenting the results of the inquiry done among 1650 people in
May-June, the director of `Sociometer' independent sociological centre
Aharon Adibekyan said this during the press conference on June 30.
`Nowadays people give more importance to social, everyday problems,
because the crisis had negative effect on 70% of people. Compared to
2008, the number of poor in Armenia reached 70, 6% from 39% and the
number of people who live well is 26, 4 % from previous 54%,' noted A.
Adibekyan. Most of the participants of the inquiry think that Armenia
will overcome the crisis or the consequences will be alleviated, if
social-economic, legal and social problems are solved. 0, 5 % gave
importance to the solution of political issues.
A.Adibekyan noted that the importance of social issues for the
population makes the political forces to move the pre-election
struggle from political field to everyday-domestic field. In his
words, the Republican party as a leading power uses comprehensive
approach, attach importance to the social-economic problems of the
country, Rule of Law party considers important legal-social issues and
ARF has also begun to attach importance to social problems.
In case of being a president the participants of the inquiry will
solve the problems of working places and economic development, the
abolishment of corruption, the rise of salary and pension.
