Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani told a news conference in Baku
that his country is would be ready to broker a settlement in the
Karabakh conflict if Azerbaijan asks for it.
"From the very beginning, Azerbaijan chose to settle the issue through
international organizations. But if Azerbaijan asks for it Iran would
be ready to help in settling the conflict," Larijani said.
In response to a question about peacekeepers to be deployed in the
region, Larijani said that was not the reason the Iranian president
postponed his visit to Armenia; the reasons were technical, he said.
