The international community sees the settlement of the Nagorno
Karabakh issue exclusively within the framework of the OSCE Minsk
group, chairwoman of the European Integration Standing Committee of
the NA Naira Zohrabyan said speaking to Armenpress, commenting on the
statement of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security
Policy Catherine Ashton that the EU is ready to assist the Minsk Group.
"After Kazan when the co-chairs registered certain disappointment,
such an assessment is being valued high. It means that the peaceful
process over the NK conflict settlement is seen exclusively within
the framework of the Minsk group and not within any other alternative
international establishment", Naira Zohrabyan said.
She said one thing is clear that taking the peace process to the
deadlock Azerbaijan pursues one goal withdraw the process from the
Minsk group and take it to other international instances. According
to Zohrabyan, using its oil-dollars Azerbaijan hopes to get desirable
solutions in short period of time.
As to the statement of Catherine Ashton that she expects certain
progress in the Karabakh conflict settlement process by the end of
the year, Zohrabyan said it must be directed to a certain addressee -
Azerbaijan. She pointed out that it was Azerbaijan that hampered the
possibility of progress in Kazan so much expected by the international
community.
