WB TO ALLOCATE $200 M TO ARMENIA IN LOANS

The World Bank will allocate $200 million to Armenia in loans over
the next two years, Jean-Michel Happi, the head of the World Bank
Yerevan Office, said today.
He said part of the loan will be provided through the International
Development Agency on privileged terms, and the other part through
the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development on terms
close to commercial.
The funds will be used mainly for irrigations and other infrastructure
projects as well as educational and health care programs.
Armenia joined the WB in 1992. So far, Armenia has received $1.495
billion in loans from the WB.
