The International Medical Congress of Armenian doctors of the world
kicked off at the Yerevan State Medical University today. The event
has brought together 1 500 doctors from eth United States, France,
Germany, Australia and Russia.
In his opening remarks Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attached
importance to the conduct of the congress, describing it as a
unification of the intellectual potential of all Armenians.
"We view this congress as a unification of the capacities, particularly
the intellectual potential of all Armenians, and we are confident that
such pan-Armenian forums have a great future. It's also important for
us, since healthcare is one of the exceptional globalizing spheres,
where international cooperation is extremely important. This meeting
will give us a chance to reveal the novelties and have the knowledge
serve for the sake of health of the Armenian people," the Prime
Minister said.
Note that the traditional Medical Forum is held once in two years.
This year the event is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Armenia's
independence and has been organized with the support of the Ministries
of Healthcare, Education and Science and Diaspora Affairs.
