Hraparak: PM Sargsyan demands resignation of Lori governor
11:50 - 09.07.11
The paper claims it learned on Friday that Governor of Lori region
Aram Kocharyan was fired. Further, it learned that Kocharyan had
written a letter to the prime minister to take a holiday.
Claiming that resignations usually are preceded by such holidays, the
paper says it tried to figure out what the matter was and found out
that Tigran Sargsyan had for a long time been dissatisfied with Aram
Kocharyan.
But Sargsyan ran out of patience when the governor told him he was
departing for Saint Petersburg for a business, but went to Georgia
instead, the paper explains.
Following that incident, the paper continues, PM Sargsyan met with
President Serzh Sargsyan and demanded Kocharyan's resignation, adding
he would resign instead if his demand was not met.
In so far the governor was guilty, the paper comments, the ultimatum
proved effective, and the president decided to meet PM's demand.
