At the last press-conference before the opening of the Golden Apricot
Film Festival, the Director of the Festival Harutyun Khachatryan
announced the surprising news: "The last gift, that we would like
to present you before the start of the Festival, is the visit of
my beloved and, I am sure, your beloved, outstanding actress Fanny
Ardant. We are inviting you to meet with her before the opening
ceremony of the festival on July 10 at 1 p.m. in the Red Hall of
Moscow Cinema".
It was also mentioned, that the two films directed by Fanny Ardant,
"Cendres et sang" and "Chimères absentes", will be shown on July 11
in Moscow Cinema.
Harutyun Khachatryan emphasized particularly the importance of the
program "Cinema of CIS countries - 20 years independent". Due to the
support of the CIS Humanitarian Foundation films of almost all the
countries of the Commonwealth, including Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan,
Kirgizstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine will
be shown in the frames of this program.
"Thanks to the support of the CIS Humanitarian Cooperation Foundation
a number of directors were invited and there will be shown 11 films.
The cooperation of the Festival with CIS Humanitarian Foundation
has created the opportunity to invite Russian cinema critics and
journalists, who are covering the work of the festival" - Harutyun
Khachatryan added.
Speaking about the same program, the artistic director of the festival
Susanna Harutyunyan mentioned, that films from CIS countries could
not have been included into the program of the festival before because
of financial problems.
"The flight tickets are very expensive and only due to the support
of the CIS Humanitarian Cooperation Foundation it became possible
to invite the directors and to show these films in Yerevan," - said
Susanna Harutyunyan. She added as well, that in the frames of the
festival the representatives of CIS countries will participate in a
round-table meeting, GAIFF official website reports.
The 8th Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival will be
held from 10-17th July due to its loyal partners: the general sponsor
VivaCell - MTS and the support of the Ministry of Culture of Republic
of Armenia.
