Prime Minister: Fair competition should be ensured between Institutes
of higher education in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan
participated in the closing ceremony of the international summer
school The Role and Involvement of Students in Bologna Process on July
9, in Tsakhkadzor, according to the RA governmental press service.
Within the framework of the event, Sargsyan met with more than 100
students from 15 countries. The Prime Minister drew students'
attention to Universities saying that the educational system must be
based on contemporary knowledge.
Sargsyan stressed that there have been both state and private
Universities in Armenia amounting to some 100 Institutions totally;
however they did not meet elementary standards. In this context he
noted that within the framework of reforms in educational field, the
first step of the government is determination of strict standards and
emphasized importance of fair competition between Institutes of higher
education.
The Prime Minister also stressed significance of student's role and
therefore organization of discussions in summer schools. The head of
the government assured that organization of such schools will have
continuous character.
Armenia and Poland will be co-chairs in Bologna process from July 1 to
December 31, 2011.
