GOLDEN APRICOT 8TH INTERNATIONAL FILM FEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan-hosted Golden Apricot 8th international
film festival came to an end on July 17, with its closing ceremony
held at Latar hotel complex. During the event, the members of the
international jury teams announced the results of the festival.
Thus, in International Feature Film Competition, a "Golden Apricot"
for the best feature film was bestowed upon "Nader and Semin, the
Seperation" by an Iranian director Asghar Farhadi. "Silver Apricot"
was awarded to "The Journals of Musan" by Park Jungbum. The Special
Jury Prize was given to "The Prize" by Paula Markovitch.
In International Documentary Film Competition, Golden Apricot went to
"The World according to Ion B." by Alexander Nanau; Silver Apricot
was awarded to Summer Pasture" by Lynn True, Nelson Walker III,
Tsering Perlo; Magnificent Nothing by Ahmad Seyedkeshmiri was given
a Special Mention.
In Armenian Panorama Competition Program, Golden Apricot for Best
Armenian Film and Best Short film went to "Loading My Life" by
Haroutyun Shatyan; Silver Apricot went to "The Spaceship" by Emil
Mkrttchian; "The Last Hippie of the Pink City" by Anastasia Popova
was given Special Mention.
In Golden Apricot Stone Competition for Short Films, the Golden Apricot
went to Glasgow by Piotr Subbotko; Bicycle by Serhat Karaaslan was
given Special Mention.
FIPRESCI Jury Prize went to "Mandoo" by Ebrahim Saeedi; Ecumenical
Jury awarded "Europolis" by Cornel Gheorghita (Jury Commendation);
Steel Gates, Armen Khachatryan.
Hrant Matevosyan Prize went to Emil Mkrttchian for the film "The
Spaceship". British Council established a prize, which was awarded
to "Loading My Life" by Haroutyun Shatyan. The same film won the
"Nvard" prize.
The Special Prize of the Armenian Film Academy "Unique Artistic View"
went to "The Prize" by Paula Markovitch.
