Armenian citizen arrested on suspicion of espionage for Azerbaijan

YEREVAN. - Armenian National Security Service arrested Karen
Mehrabyan, 31, resident of Yerevan on Armenian-Georgian `Bavra' border
on Saturday. He is suspected in having contact with Azerbaijani secret
service.
Mehrabyan has been in the view of Security Service for a long time.
All that time Security Service in various ways, including video
surveillance, collected facts on how he gathered documents on Karabakh
military potential, preserved them and transferred to Azerbaijani
secret service, press service of Armenian Security Service informs
Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Mehrabyan tried to involve people from Nagorno-Karabakh and servicemen
of Armenian MOD in his secret data collecting process, which
interested Azerbaijani secret services.
Security Service has hard facts on how Mehrabyan got involved in
illegal activity of Azerbaijani secret service in Turkey.
Criminal case is instigated on high treason, according to article 299,
part 1 of Armenian Criminal Code. Armenian Security Service runs the
investigation.
