YOUTH ACTIVISTS CALL FOR CLOSING RUSSIAN MIGRATION OFFICES IN ARMENIA

The activists of the Armenian youth initiative Hima call for closing
all the Russian migration offices in the country.
In that connection, they have issued a statement, considering the
operation of such offices illegal.
The activists voice concerns over the Compatriots program which
is aimed at resettling Armenians on the territory of the Russian
Federation.
They particularly call for:
- Suspending discussions with the Russian authorities;
- Closing all the offices responsible for the implementation of the
program, following the example of several other former Soviet countries
that considered such initiative a threat to their national security;
- Establishing liability measures for the senior officials whose
negative acts contributed to what the clall a de-Armeniazation policy.
