    ARMENIAN TOWNS HAVE 75 COOPERATION AGREEMENTS WITH DIFFERENT TOWNS OF THE WORLD

    YEREVAN

    Armenian towns have 75 cooperation agreements with different towns of
    the world. Head of the international cooperation department of the
    Territorial Administration Ministry Lilit Saroyan told Armenpress
    that the majority of the agreements - 26 - comes to Yerevan's share.

    The towns of Lori have 10 cooperation agreements, Syunik towns 9,
    Armavir and Tavush towns have six each, towns of Ararat, Gegharkunik,
    Shirak have four each, Kotayk towns have three, Aragatsotn towns have
    two, and Vayots Dzor towns have one.

    Lilit Saroyan said during the recent years Armenian towns have
    intensified the cooperation with other towns, some have upgraded their
    agreements, some signed new ones. Etchmiadzin, Artashat, Gyumri,
    Vanadzor are among actively cooperating towns. The majority of the
    towns are cooperating with the towns of Russia, France, CIS countries.

    "The intensification of cooperation is an important step. It promotes
    the exchange of experience in the local self-governmental sphere,
    exchange of experience", the head of the department said.
