NONE OF NAGORNO-KARABAKH PRESIDENTS INHERITED POWER, ARMENIAN PRESIDENT STATES

At a news conference held jointly with his Polish counterpart
BronisÅ~Baw Komorowski, who is on an official visit to Armenia,
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of the
European Union's (EU) assistance in democratization of Nagorno
    Karabakh.

"Democracy is an exceptional value, and we highly appreciate any
assistance to democracy," the Armenian leader said.

Serzh Sargsyan also pointed out that the Armenian side will be happy
if the EU assists Nagorno-Karabakh's democratization.

"Elections in Nagorno-Karabakh were held in conformity
with international standards. The parliamentary elections in
Nagorno-Karabakh afforded an opportunity for all political forces to
be represented in the Nagorno-Karabakh Parliament," said President
    Serzh Sargsyan.

"Three presidential elections have been held in Nagorno-Karabakh. None
of the three presidents inherited power from his predecessor. The
Nagorno-Karabakh authorities never allow themselves to make insulting
remarks about the Azerbaijani people, which brings honor to them -
in contrast to the neighboring state's leader, who, although good at
articulating his ideas, is unable to conceal his hatred," the Armenian
    leader said.

A person filled with hatred is unable to make sensible decisions. In
this context, the EU's assistance to Nagorno Karabakh is necessary.
