Ankara continues voicing criticism over Armenian President Serzh
Sargsyan's recent statement delivered during the pan-Armenian Olympiad
in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor.
The Turkish news agency Cihan has quoted a statement by Deputy
Premier Bulent Arinch who made insulting remarks about Armenia and
the Armenia people.
"That's a lack of responsibility and provocation that will bring
no advantage to Armenia ... Sargsyan's speech was intended for the
domestic audience. And our prime minister gave a worthy response. No
one can look askance at Turkey, our mountains, valleys and waters
... And we are the owners of those lands," the Turkish official
said. "Armenia faces serious economic problems. We would them wheat
when they were starving. Why don't they pull themselves together,
refusing to enter into deals with the Diaspora?"
