YEREVAN. - By sentencing the murderer of Hrant Dink Ogun Samast,
Turkish authorities sentenced him only for having perpetrated the
crime, Armenian scientist for Turkish studies Artak Shakaryan told
at a press conference on Thursday.
It is necessary to reveal those who ordered the murder. Besides,
there are other persons to be accused in the crime. Among them are
policemen who were aware of the impending crime, Shakaryan stressed.
"Sentencing Samast does not mean to solve the issue," he stated and
added that Turkish media undertake attempts of emotional impact.
In particular, they reported that a "child was sentenced" refering
to the murderer.
Editor-in-chief of Agos newspaper, an ethnic Armenian Hrant Dink,
was murdered on January 19 in 2007.
