CONFERENCE ON 500TH ANNIVERSARY OF ARMENIAN PRINTING HELD IN YEREVAN

The printing was of huge significance for the Armenian people - the
Armenian latter books were given new spirit, new development horizons,
director of the Armenian National Library, chairman of the Armenian
Library Association Davit Sargsyan said at a conference dedicated to
the 500th anniversary of the Armenian printing.
The reports voiced on the first day of the "Armenian Printing: the
past and the present" conference referred to the Armenian printing
in Constantinople, Madras, Netherlands, etc.
Students of the Yerevan State University came forth with scientific
reports. The conference will continue its work tomorrow. The reports of
the second day will refer to the Armenian mapping in 17-19 centuries,
launch of Armenian printing in Jerusalem.
