Monument to Turkish-Armenian friendship replaced by that to cheese

The municipality of Kars continues dismantlement of the monument to
Armenian-Turkish friendship which Erdogan called `monstrous'.
Simultaneously, the municipality decided to erect monument to famous
sort of cheese `Kashar'.
The municipality has sent messages to the Union of Artists informing
of an intention to erect monuments to cheese and honey, Haberturk
reports. Height of the monument will be 1.5 meters, while width - 2.1
meter, and the monument to honey with height of 3.3 meters and width
of 1 meter.
Talking to Haberturk, Mayor of Kars noted that the monuments to cheese
and honey will be installed in different parts of the city that will
be a kind of advertising of city's production.
Turkish sculptor Mehmet Aksoy, author of the monument to
Armenian-Turkish friendship commented on this decision.
`It's cheesy way of thinking. They think erecting monuments is
something like eating and drinking,' he said.
