RULING PARTY MEMBER SAYS DELEGATIONS NOT ADEQUATE FORMAT FOR TALKS BETWEEN ANC AND AUTHORITIES

We don't consider the Armenian National Congress' call for a dialogue
with the authorities unacceptable but that should not be in the format
of delegations, a senior member of the ruling Republican Party of
Armenia has said.
Speaking at a news conference today, Gagik Melikyan said President
Serzh Sargsyan proposed as early as three years ago that all political
forces discuss issues at a round table but ANC turned down the proposal
at the time.
He said conducting talks between delegations is not right, as this
is usually a format used in international talk.
"The president's proposal to talk with all of them at once looks
more adequate," Melikyan said. He also said that ANC could talk with
"the executive body" and the RPA Political Council, adding he did
not believe Serzh Sargsyan is going to add anything to this answer.
