"Azerbaijan will not sign a document that will make it abstain from the
use of force," Chairman of the NKR NA Standing Committee on Foreign
Relations Vahram Atanesyan said after a sitting of the Armenia-NKR
interparliamentary committee.
"In their statement, the Minsk Group Co-Chairs urged the sides to
reach an agreement over the basic principles of the Karabakh talks. We
find it impossible since Azerbaijan will not abstain from the use of
force. If Azerbaijan signs the document and agrees to its provisions,
it will open a door for NKR's universal recognition. This will be
immediately followed by large-scale discussions between the sides
over unsettled issues," he said.
Recently, the personal representative of OSCE Chairman-in-Office
Andrzej Kasprzyk said that before the final settlement of the Karabakh
conflict, the sides should determine Karabakh's interim status which
should not essentially differ from Karabakh's present status.
Commenting on Kasprzyk's words, Vahram Atanesyan said that the
personal representative of OSCE Chairman-in-Office simply tried to
sound original before completing his mission.
