(Noyan Tapan - 10.06.2011) Azerbaijan Azadliq newspaper notes that the
inner policy by the authorities of the state is consistent with the
foreign policy actions as that policy is unpleasant for Azerbaijan and
gives rise to dissatisfaction in both directions. According to the
newspaper, during his visit to Serbia the president of Azerbaijan
Ilham Aliyev "catered to the Armenian side" by making parallels
between Kosovo and Nagorno-Kharabakh. According to the newspaper
Aliyev announced: "Serbia has also suffered because of the separatism
like Azerbaijan. We hope that you too will restore your country's
territorial integrity."
The newspaper notes that the Armenian side was trying to make
parallels between Kosovo and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and make use
of the precedent of Kosovo for the recognition of Nagorno-Kharabakh
independence. But the European Union and Council of Europe strongly
reacted to those attempts of the Armenian side declaring that the
problem of Kosovo differs. However, according to the newspaper
Aliyev, by his statement, ignores the position of the international
authoritative agencies on the issue.
