An ethnic Armenian young man is going to run for president in France
in 2012.
Maxime Verner, 21, was born in France, to a family of a taxi driver
and a French mother of Armenian descent, a French Armenian journalist,
Jean Eckian. reported from Paris.
Verner has already published a pre-election program titled "Youth of
all ages meet us! 89 proposals for 2012". There, he proposes making
the issuance of driving licenses free of charge. He also calls for
stepping up efforts to narrow the generation gap in world countries
in order to assist young people.
His proposal has reportedly kicked up a great fuss in France. His
program is being widely covered by the media, and TV channels invite
the young candidate to interviews.
