On June 14 Catholicos of All Armenians His Holiness Karekin II visited
Akhalkalaki accompanied by Patriarch of Georgia Ilya II.
The religious leaders visited Surb Khach Church. After prayer,
Catholicos consecrated the khachkar (cross- stone) erected in the
churchyard in honor of the patriarchal visit. Afterwards, Karekin
II visited the village of Tsurgut where the famous Tsurgut Gospel is
preserved at St. Zion Church.
