STATE SERVICE: BUYING MEAT FROM STREETS IS DANGEROUS IN YEREVAN

    /ARKA/
    JUNE 17, 2011
    YEREVAN

YEREVAN. June 17. /ARKA/. State Food Security Service (SFSS) of the
Armenian Ministry of Agriculture called the population of Yerevan for
not buying meat in the streets where it is not stored in refrigerators.

"We receive complaints from the citizens that there are cases of
selling meat in the streets. Before getting a permission of regular
check we ask the citizens not to buy meat in the streets", states
    the message.

At the beginning of this month, SFSS announced that the situation
in the open meat passage in one of central streets of Yerevan was
"highly explosive" which brought to the termination of the activities
    of some economic entities.

The activity of over 20 booths was temporarily terminated in the
period of May 31 to June 6 due to violations of some sanitary-hygienic
norms in accordance with the law "On retail trade" and a number of
regulations "On the security of food products". Economic entities
where violations were detected were given seven days for correcting
their gaps and bring the state of the booths to normal condition.
