Azerbaijan should recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as party to negotiations - MP
June 18, 2011 | 13:39
YEREVAN.- MP from Republican Party Hamlet Harutunyan does not have
great expectations from the forthcoming meeting between Armenian and
Azerbaijani leaders.
Certain progress is unlikely to be registered, he told journalists on Saturday.
`I do not think that Azerbaijan will make constructive proposals,' he
said adding that Baku will adhere to its unconstructive position as
long as international agencies exert pressure on the country.
Among the issues discussed during the Kazan meeting, Harutunyan
pointed out violation of ceasefire regime by Azerbaijan and
involvement of Karabakh in the peace process.
`Azerbaijan should recognize Nagorno-Karabakh instead of Armenia as a
party to the conflict,' he emphasized.
