US envoy optimistic about statements on Karabakh

U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza welcomes statement of the
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister on Karabakh.
U.S. welcomes statement made by the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister
regarding new approach to resolution of the Karabakh conflict, he
said, SalamNews reports.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, Armenian, Azerbaijani and
Russian Foreign Ministers met in Moscow on June 11.
President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan will meet with his Azerbaijani
counterpart Ilham Aliyev through the mediation of Russian President
Dmitry Medevdev in Kazan on June 25.
Earlier, Presidents of Russia, France and Armenia issued a joint
statement on Nagorno-Karabakh within the framework of G8 Summit, on
May 26.
They called upon the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan to
demonstrate their political will by finalizing the Basic Principles
during their upcoming summit in June.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said `certain progress'
was registered in the Karabakh peace process.
`There is coordination and rapprochement of the parties' positions.
However, intensive negotiations on some issues should continue,' said
Mammadyarov.
