MONUMENT TO FRIDTJOF NANSEN TO BE ERECTED IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS: The Committee for Fridtjof Nansen's
150th Anniversary held today a session, which was chaired by Armen
Gevorgyan, RA vice prime minister, chairman of the committee.
An official from the PR department of the RA Territorial Administration
Ministry told Armenpress that during the session the Committee
discussed a number of issues on organizing events, dedicated to
Fridtjof Nansen - Norwegian diplomat, humanitarian, Nobel laureate,
and a great friend of the Armenian people.
The Committee approved the issue of erecting a monument to Fridtjof
Nansen in the center of Yerevan. The RA Culture Ministry was assigned
to announce a tender for the monument's project. The results of the
tender will be summarized till August 1.
