ARMENIAN DELEGATION TO PACE AGAINST SUBCOMMITTEE ON NK ISSUE

YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS: The summer session of the Council of
Europe Parliamentary Assembly goes on in Strasbourg.
Naira Zohrabyan, member of the Armenian delegation to PACE, told
Armenpress from Strasbourg that during the session and the PACE
authorities and the so-called "chairman" of the Subcommittee on the
NK Issue stated that the Subcommittee will hold today a session.
At a session, held today morning, Davit Harutyunyan, head of the
Armenian delegation to PACE, made a report and presented the Armenian
delegation's argumentation, according to which the resumption of the
activity of the PACE Subcommittee on the NK Issue is not appropriate.
Davit Harutyunyan stated that the Armenian delegation will not partake
in the works of the Subcommittee.
Davit Harutyunyan said the Armenian delegation will not respond to
the Azerbaijani party's charges, falsifications, and this will be
the goodwill by the Armenian delegation. He offered the Azerbaijani
party to act the same way and restrain from such a behavior.
"I think many members of the Assembly perceived this positively.
Naturally, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation got hysterical about
this. He called on the Council of Europe to demand the operation of the
Subcommittee and accused the Armenian delegation of a non-constructive
stance," Naira Zohrabyan said.
