Most of Yerevan citizens think no document will be signed during the
meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijan and Russia Presidents in Kazan.
They believe that Serzh Sargsyan will not agree to sign a document
with Azerbaijan without consulting with his people.
"I do not know the contents of the document; however, I do not think
that it can solve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict," said Yerevan
citizen Ashot Babayan.
"I fought in the war for 4 years and 6 months. I am from Karabakh
but I do not have great expectations from the meeting," said Martik
Ghazaryan.
"People are in the dark. They are ignorant of the document and have
great fears. Let us not forget that we shed blood to preserve our
lands," said Vazgen Vardanyan who lives in London.
Many of our respondents reminded the Armenian leadership that part of
Armenian territorities (Shahumyan, Getashen, Martakert, Artsvashen)
is still controlled by Azerbaijan.
"Should Azerbaijan wage a war against Armenia, we shall all take up
arms to protect our homeland," they said unanimously.
"Why should we cede anything? We have so many lands to return,"
said Manuk Harutyunyan.
Alyev knows that they cannot win; therefore they do not start a war.
Azerbaijan has weapons but does not have soldiers to fight," said
Martik Ghazaryan.
