PanARMENIAN.Net - The convention of Armenian refugees form Azerbaijan
issued a statement, stressing their rights for repatriation.
According to the statement, international mediators' suggesting return
of part of the refugees or displaced persons back to their homes,
while refusing to repatriate the other part are discriminatory and
unacceptable.
"OSCE Minsk Group policy, forbidding settlement on the territories
under NKR jurisdiction further exacerbated humanitarian situation in
the region, triggering political speculation and shameless manipulation
of the fates of 1992-1994 armed conflict victims on one hand, and
ignoring the rights of the population which witnessed a conflict
in the same period, as well as 1988-1992, on the other hand," the
statement said.
The convention resolved struggle towards observation of the right
of the refugees for repatriation, addressing Stepanakert authorities
with a request to assist in housing the refugees on the territories
under NKR control.
The convention also demands to address UN Commission with a request
to assist in settlement and life support of refugees and displaced
persons.
The statement is submitted to representation of Karabakh, Embassies of
France, U.S., Russia Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan as well as UN Mission.
