RADIK MARTIROSYAN RE-ELECTED RA NAS CHAIRMAN

Academician Radik Martirosyan was re-elected today chairman of the
RA National Academy of Sciences.
An official from the RA NAS Analytical Center told Armenpress that 66
members (academicians), 62 associates and 41 authorized representatives
of the RA NAS partook in the general gathering dedicated to election
of the RA NAS administration. During the gathering Armen Galoyan,
RA NAS academician, nominated Radik Martirosyan's candidacy,
and NAS associate Suren Mkhitaryan nominated Lenser Aghalovyan's
candidacy. Both candidates presented their projects. Radik Martirosyan
was backed by 102 votes and Lenser Aghalovyan - by 34 votes. 7 people
voted against both candidates and 8 ballots were invalid.
Radik Martirosyan nominated NAS Acting Vice Chairman Yuri Shukuryan's
candidacy for the office of the RA NAS vice chairman, and RA NAS
associate Hrant Matevosyan's candidacy for the office of the RA
NAS Academician-Secretary. Yuri Shukuryan and Hrant Matevosyan were
elected with 118 and 115 votes respectively.
