Azerbaijan is the target of the spread of the "Arab Syndrome" in the
South Caucasus, Rector of V. Brusov State Linguistic University of
Yerevan Suren Zolyan told a news conference.
"In the South Caucasus, only Azerbaijan may face this danger since
both Armenia and Georgia if not in the aspect of statehood then at
least in the aspect of culture are more stable than the countries of
the Middle East," Zolyan said.
He noted that possible developments in Iran are actively discussed in
the West, and Azerbaijan tries to speculate on the Turkish-speaking
population of North Iran.
However, according to Zolyan, this may have the opposite result since
Azerbaijan faces many problems with violation of minority rights.
