KAREN KARAPETYAN: "OWNERS AND CONDOMINIUM ASSOCIATIONS SHOULD KNOW THEIR RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES"

YEREVAN, MARCH 9, ARMENPRESS: Though condominium associations are
voluntary organizations, established by citizens, and with their
functions they have horizontal relations with the municipality,
the official district- condominium association cooperation is
indispensable, says Karen Karapetyan, mayor of Yerevan.
An official from the information and PR department of Yerevan
Municipality told Armenpress that Karen Karapetyan said today at
a working consultation that the whole process, from collection of
payments to efficient administration, must be controlled by citizens.
He mentioned that the reason of the main part of shortcomings is that
owners of apartments in multistory dwellings lack for information on
their rights and responsibilities.
As to the 2010-2015 public education development project of the city
of Yerevan, Mayor Karen Karapetyan underscored the importance of
establishing boards of trustees and creating websites in schools. He
said any voluntary payment in school must be transparent. "These are
the game rules for restoring the trust in schools and teachers," the
mayor said. Karen Karapetyan also emphasized the "One Window" system's
"unsatisfying state" and assigned to settle the issue within a short
period to make the use of the system more convenient and efficient
for citizens.
The mayor assigned to focus on issues of general cleaning of the
city and said it is necessary to make an inventory of the existing
capacity, "in order to understand how much investment we need in
the sphere". Karen Karapetyan also assigned to go on the consecutive
control of the markets and car markets in the capital for ensuring
protection of necessary conditions and a satisfactory hygienic state.
