Turkish State Minister Egemen Bagish will leave for the United States
on Tuesday, the Turkish media reported.
Bagis, who is also Turkey's chief negotiator for EU talks, is expected
to discuss the Armenian Genocide issue with US officials.
According to the Turkish publication Yeni Safak, Ankara has taken
certain measures towards preventing the Armenian Genocide Resolution
from being included in the Congress agenda and as a major step in
that direction, is dispatching its envoy to the United States.
The Turkish official is scheduled to be in Washington until March 19.
Citing anonymous diplomatic sources, the publication further says
the Resolution will be included in the Congress agenda as the former
speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has been
replaced the Republican John Boehner.
