OBESITY AMONG ARMENIAN YOUTHS AND ADULTS UP

YEREVAN. - The research conducted among teenagers in twenty schools
of Armenia's capital revealed that 5.8% of schoolchildren have obesity
problem, while 13% have extra body weight.
The number of adults suffering from obesity doubled, while number of
teenagers having obesity problem tripled over the recent 30 years,
said endocrinologist, deputy director of the Yerevan medical center
Bamine Baghramyan.
"Obesity is a problem dangerous for health which is caused by eating
food rich in calories and low physical activity. Obesity also affects
brain activity," she assured.
