The residents of Stepanakert receive water for two hours a day only
since not only the town's water supply system has a leak but has been
in dire need of repair for years now. Stepanakert's 140 km long water
supply system was built back in 1950.
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund is reconstructing the 10th and 11th zones
(out of 13 zones) of the internal distribution network of Stepanakert.
These zones include G.Parseghov, V.Mamikonyan, Baghramyan, Lazarev,
Davit Bek, Kamo, Muratsan, Sasuntsi Davit, Azatamartikner, Iosifyan,
Teryan, Babajanyan, Shinararneri, Shmavon, V.Saroyan and Mashtots
streets of Step-Ges and Armenavan districts.
The reconstruction of the internal distribution network is sponsored
with the money donated during the Telethon and allocated by the
Government of Artsakh.
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund reports that with the reconstruction of
the above mentioned segments, the residents of Stepanakert will have
24-hour supply of water.
