Head of the EU delegation to Armenia Raul de Luzenberger is completing
his mission in our country. Luzenberger said this at the conference in
Yerevan titled "The Role of EU in the South Caucasus: From Cooperation
to Partnership through Reforms: Challenges and Opportunities."
Summing up the results of his 4-year mission, Raul de Luzenberger
said the frequent visits of EU officials to Armenia speak for the
activeness of bilateral relations. He said every country is free to
deepen relations with democratic institutions of the European Union.
According to the Head of EU delegation to Armenia, European structures
are interested in helping Armenia develop the country and make it more
democratic. That way it will be possible to ensure regional stability,
therefore also the stability of the European Union.
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Karien Ghazinyan also notes positive
trend in the development of Armenia-EU relations.
"Unfortunately, there are countries, which are not committed to
the principle of formation of an atmosphere of trust in the region,
thus undermining the EU efforts in that direction," she stressed in
her speech.
