An legal action could remove the most important French-Armenian
magazine, Jean Eckian informs from Paris.
Estimating itself defamed in the forum website armenews.com , Raymond
Yezeguelian, owner in France and Armenia of several buildings and
person in charge of French edition Noyan Tapan, engaged lawsuit
against the magazine, directed by Ara Toranian, created in 1995.
Raymond Yezeguelian, who rents his offices in Paris to the magazine
"Les Nouvelles d'Armenie", request moreover the expulsion of
the newspaper and 50.000 euros for damages. This is represents a
" harassing within the framework of the open war proclaimed by
Yezeguelian to " kill " the newspaper and its website" rebels the
publisher. He adds that these procedures are following the refusal of
the drafting of the newspaper " to have refused to publish undesirable
infomercials ". According Toranian, Yezeguelian also would have
tried to redeem the parts of shareholders of the magazine. But "
in vain... ".
In this affair, they are the Armenian readers of France who would
lose the most independent Armenian-French media.
