PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL BOOK EXHIBITIONS GIVE POSITIVE RESULTS

During the recent years Armenia is always participating in
international book exhibitions and fairs. Chairman of the "Association
of National Publishers", director of the "Edit Print" publishing office
Mkrtich Karapetyan told Armenpress that during the recent years they
presented Armenia at the international exhibitions in Geneva, Paris,
Thessalonike, the USA, and the Armenian pavilions always interested
the visitors.
Karapetyan said though the books published in Armenia are of
high-quality and raise interest among foreigners but here we face
issues of translating art. "The Armenian books would have more success
if they were translated into different European languages", he said,
particularly stressing the importance of translation of books on the
Armenian Genocide.
According to him, in reality these exhibitions are not restricted on
the theory level, they give practical results, agreements are being
signed as a result the books of Armenian authors are being translated
into foreign languages which give the authors opportunity to become
more famous and well-known in the world.
